Private Events 2018: DATES BOOKING FAST!!
We’re delighted to say that we already have more than 60 private & public events booked for 2018, and we’re taking bookings for 2019.
Even though we do up to three separate events per night, this means we’re now fully booked on a number of dates, and many others are filling up quickly. The most popular night for an event is obviously a Saturday, but we work seven days a week, so the choice is entirely yours. All we’d say is that, if you’re planning an event for 2018, please get in touch sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, more information about our private events can be seen here.

Halloween Thrillers: thank you for joining us!!
Thank you so much to our two brilliant “Bell, Book & Scandal” audiences who graced Miskin Manor and the Regency Park Hotel for our Halloween events on Oct 28 & 29! We hope we entertained you, because you certainly entertained us (more photos can be seen on our Facebook page). Huge thanks also to both venues for their excellent hospitality. We’d love to be back at both, so do keep an eye out for future plans!
“Malice Through the Looking Glass”: Wilton Windmill 2016
Our fourth annual jaunt to Wilton Windmill was the best yet: the Weather Gods delivered sunshine and perfect temperatures; and the wonderful audience of 110 really helped to make this a classic Smoke & Mirrors evening.
Congratulations to Abi for winning the chocolates (for being the control subject in the White Queen’s pregnancy test); to “the other Alice” for bagging the Rioja for best-dressed guest (a hotly contested field); and to Claire and her girls (below, with the White Queen) for making off with the champagne, courtesy of their amazingly accurate sleuthing!!
Thanks as ever to Lee Booth for his peerless hog roast, and to all the Windmill volunteers, without whom none of this would ever be possible.
Enjoy the photos on our Facebook page, and do please share any others if you have them! We hope to be back at Wilton in 2017: you’ll be the first to hear our plans!!
“Royal Blood” @ Tollgate Inn, Wiltshire: SOLD OUT!!
The first public outing of our brand new plot was a sell-out success at the Tollgate Inn in Wiltshire on Friday 20 May. Thanks as ever to Mark & Laura for their brilliant hospitality; to our fabulous audience for being such fun; and to Naomi & Angharad for winning the champers!! We hope to be back at the Tollgate before too long – meanwhile, do come and see us again!
“Malice Through the Looking Glass” @ Royal Oak, Cheltenham: SOLD OUT!!
A huge thank you to everyone who came to the first ever outing of “Malice Through the Looking Glass” in our annual Christmas Special at the Royal Oak. “Malice in Wonderland” @ The Watermill Theatre: SOLD OUT!!
Our two nights presenting “Malice in Wonderland” as a very special festive extravaganza at The Watermill Theatre in Newbury were a complete delight. Huge thanks to Carole-Anne, Clem and their brilliant teams for all their support and brilliance; and to our two sell-out audiences for entertaining us as much as we (hopefully) entertained them. We’re very much hoping to be back at The Watermill before too long!
“A Turn for the Nurse” @ The Forge, East Sussex

Thank you very much to our amazing audience for last night’s event at Wilton Windmill – do hope you had as much fun as we did, and it was lovely to see so many familiar faces from last year and 2013! Congratulations to the Agatha Christie Team for walking away with the champagne; thanks as ever to Wilton and their volunteers for hosting the event and keeping the bar busy; and to Lee Booth for another exceptional hogroast. Thanks also to those who have already emailed, shared photos, and “liked” us on Facebook – always hugely appreciated! Look forward to seeing you all at another event before too long.

A new plot to end 2013
Take one elite sports science company. Add several hundred under-performing athletes and three-dozen out-of-shape celebrities. Mix in an unscrupulous biochemist, a Daily Mail journalist, and two thousand doses of a dodgy Viagra-substitute. Result? Performances that are out of this world, and a scandal that’s out of control. Stiff Competition has just been unveiled for a corporate audience at London’s brilliant Abbey Bar and is now available for general bookings! Click here for video highlights!
Introducing our new murder mystery: a scandalous Christmas Special!!
Just in time for the festive season comes our first foray into the world of adult panto, so make room in your diary for Sinderella’s Arabian Knights. “Ghost from a Perfect Place” @ Wilton Windmill: SOLD OUT!!
"Malice in Wonderland" @ RAF Benson’s Summer Ball

"Back with a Vengeance" @ Cowley Manor, Cheltenham
An unscrupulous psychic, a vengeful spirit, and a misdirected invitation to a Tarts & Vicars party. Add to that exclusive use of a stunning venue on a beautiful summer’s evening and one of the best audiences imaginable, and it’s a perfect night of murder and mayhem. Enjoy the video highlights (be warned: this is one of our more raucous events!) and grateful thanks to Cowley Manor, Danone, and Concerto Live.

Brand new property!!
Smoke & Mirrors are delighted to announce that we have just teamed up with North Cadbury Court – one of the most stunning houses in the South West of England. We are now North Cadbury's "in-house" murder mystery company, and have created a brand new plot especially for this unforgettable venue. A Study in Fuchsia is a blackly comic, Sherlock Holmes-inspired thriller of the highest quality. If a wicked blend of farce, horror, and satire is what you need to enliven a luxury weekend away, this is just the thing!
